Then in xLights, you want to set that controller's active status to xLights only. You might have to manually delete the output for that controller. Can you share a screenshot of your E1.31 outputs page? (Please a screenshot and not a picture of your screen)

Are any of your other controllers FPP Based?

Is your Pi cap controlling more than 2 ports? If not, then no license required. But if you need audio out of this device, then you will need to buy a Soundblaster or a license.

Simoly put, Kulp and Falcon branded caps do not have to have a license since as I understand it those vendors contribue to the develop of FPP.  Other caps seem not to contribute but do have the opportunity to contribute and then their customers would not need a license.  In the end the cost of a license is trivial

Quote from: Poporacer on July 14, 2024, 07:54:20 PMYou have your Player in the Controllers page. IF your Player is not connected directly to pixels or a matrix, then it doesn't need to be in the Controllers page of xLights.
Your Player Active state needs to be set to xLights Only if it is also a Controller.
If your Player is not a Controller, then set the Model variant to Player only.
If any of your controllers are FPP based, like Kulp controllers, then you might want to consider using the MultiSync mode, it is way more efficient. And if you decide to go that route, all MultiSync remotes should have the Active state set to xLights only as well.

That controller is connected to my Megatree prop. Things have been working fine for years, until I FPP connect using UDP all.

I should also mention that I have to reboot once this happens in order to be able to start a playlist again.

Falcon Player (FPP) / Audio Issue with Pi Zero 2 W
Last post by robbiet - July 14, 2024, 11:48:16 AM
Hi All.  I am running FPP 7.5 on a Pi Zero 2 W with a 64GB SD card and the new Kulp K2-Pi0 cape installed.  I'm running a basic media only single track playlist on repeat but the playlist is failing to load after a couple of loops.  Here is what I am seeing in the FPPD logs.  The track is a 4 minute MP3.  Any advice?  Is this a bug or do I need to change a setting?

Quick update:

Digging further, I noticed that the USB driver on my Rasbian was the dwc_otg, while the FPP one was dwc2

A little bit of Googling and fumbling later (actually a medium-sized bit... I'm fairly new to this):
  • I edited /boot/config.txt
  • Looked for the line dtoverlay=dwc2
  • Replaced it with dtoverlay=dwc_otg

=> USB devices (sound, mass storage) are now detected when plugged in and work correctly
=> Doesn't seem to have introduced any adverse side effects... for me (please note I'm just starting and at this point I have a very simple configuration with no DMX, Midi, etc.)

Also, not a problem for me, but please note that it didn't solve the USB tethering issue.

Support FPP
