I still use LOR to sequence and still run some LOR Gen1/Gen2/Gen3 AC controllers. For RGB I have a few F16v2's, a F16v3 with two expansion boards, and a F48 with several receivers.

The plan, at least for this year, is to continue using LOR software (s5 pro) to sequence, schedule, and run the show from a laptop.

What do I need to do in order to get the Falcon hardware to run using LOR software? Other than the obvious setting up a separate  network running E1.31.

Yea, another LOR person over here!  I also use LOR S5 for all my sequencing, and run the show entirely from LOR.  As far LOR is concerned the Falcon controllers (I have several in service along with SanDevices controllers) are just another E1.31 controller.  Set up E1.31 devices in the LOR Network Preferences, and obviously run different network cables.  One of my standard recommendations is to use different color Cat-5 cable for LOR network vs E1.31.  Although generally not a problem, connecting LOR network devices and E1.31 network devices together can result in letting the magic blue smoke out which is required to allow all electronics to function.  In my case, I use purple Cat-5 for LOR network and green Cat-5 cable for E1.31.

BTW, I have been running E1.31 from LOR since 2012, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.  I should be able to help.  If really needed, I can do a TeamViewer session with you to help.

One more thing, I really like the versatility of the Falcon controllers.

First major question is the requirement of a FPP. Is this required to run the Falcon boards with the LOR softwares?

Second is I don't seem to see any firmware updates listed for F16v2 or F16v3. Is it somewhere other than the downloads section or their respective sub forums?

Hi Jim, this isn't my thread but I have a related question.
I run my show on s5 and recently added my first e1.31 controller. I've got it talking and controlling (an alphapix 4).
Now I'm trying to add an FPP with octoscroller. I've updated to the latest FPP build and am able to configure panels and test them in FPP via web interface.
When I add to LOR network configuration, I'm not sure what port to use.
Running a test sequence,, I ultimately I don't get any control of the FPP and the FPP status screen never shows any activity.
I have a feeling its the port configuration but could be way off base. Any ideas?

Quick answer because it's 2:45 AM after getting called by work.  Not very awake...

The FPP installation will be configured in Bridge mode (set on the Status page).  That essentially turns it into another E.1.31 controller as far as LOR is concerned.

In LOR Network Preference, the Universe settings are set on the DMX tab - just like your Alphapix.  The port is the default 5568 and leave the Comm Listener Port to it's default 8837.  Note that the dropdown box in the lower right cornet that allows setting more than one universe is your friend since you will likely be setting many universes for your matrix.

If that did not answer your question, ask for more detail.

Now, back to bed...

FPP is not required to run falcon boards with LOR software. As a matter of fact LOR software will not run FPP. Also take a look here for some firmware updates https://www.pixelcontroller.com/store/index.php?id_product=38&controller=product

Unless I am mistaken (and I'm now awake), he is like me only needing to use FPP in order to drive the P5 or P10 matrix panel.  If that is the case, the FPP instance will drive the matrix panel in e1.31 bridge mode, and the Alphapix will be driven as a normal E1.31 controller - with both the Alphapix and FPP being driven by LOR S5.  That is exactly what I am doing.
Is my assumption correct, and how big is your matrix panel?
