You have got to brush up on terminology.  Unfortunately some folks confuse a lot of things and post using the wrong terminology and then new folks read old posts pick up on the wrong info.  For instance controlling 1024 pixels is not the same as powering 1024 pixels.  And while a port can control 1024 pixels it is still limited to 5a for powering pixels which for me is 240 pixels but only at 20% brightness.  If I tried it at 100% brightness I would blow a fuse.  There is a lot of stuff to understand in this hobby,  my advice is do not rush things.  I've been doing animated lights for 14 years and pixels for 8 or 9 and I still learn new stuff all the time.
