Tp-Link Plugin: Is Tapo supported?

I've used the TP-Link plugin successfully with the Kasa switches and lights.  I'm just curious, does this also work with TP-Link's Tapo line of products?

Thanks.

I'm confused.  I thought Kasa was simply the app. I've never seen a switch, etc labeled with Kasa as a brand.  I have a number of TP-link switches and outlets/plugs that work fine with the Kasa app.  Not sure what the Tapo products are as I have never seen them in my shopping until today when I used google to find some.  Looks like they have a new app, but I have not found any info (yet) that indicates any compatibility, or incompatibility, between Kasa and the Tapco app.

A google search using "kasa vs tapo" results in lots of stuff, but still have not seen any answers on compatibility.

TP-Link introduced the Tapo product line back in late 2019 according to Google.  It seems to be in direct competition with their Kasa product line, which is causing confusion in the market.

Since TP-Link provides separate apps for the two product lines, I assume that the protocols are different, which leads me to conclude that the plug-in likely does not support Tapo.   The Tapo products seem to cost a little less, so I've been tempted to try them out.
