I received these with a network cable in the mail from Falcon. I assume they are for my receiver boards?

or this one? these are the only two bags i have other then the shipping bag which had nothing on it other then the shipping label. Talk in forums is like marriage, can never just get a straight yes or no answer. But i still love you FOREVER...

The Differential Receivers (original and smart) use RS485 data protocol.
The standard "termination resistance" for RS485 (this includes LOR, DMX and Pixelnet) is 120 ohms.
It goes on the last element in a chain of elements.

It is particularly important to terminate if the data line is "long"

Termination resistors stop "data echo" from the end back toward the beginning. This includes echos of the actual data and noise picked up in that long line.

So, this device sent by David "fixes" the problem by letting you put the correct 120 ohm resistance on the LAST Smart Receiver because the built in resistor (factory error) was 120 Kohms, (120,000 ohms) instead of 120. Way too high and therefore did not stop any data echos.

If you want to look up "impedance matching" you'll find more data than you care to read. :)

Actually, I turned OFF all my resistors due to signal problems.  Once I did, everything worked just fine.
RS-485 (TIA-485(-A) or EIA-485) is fickle sometimes.  Sometimes it requires the terminators, sometimes it doesn't.  Specs say it is needed, so it is a good thing to turn it on - at the last device in the chain.

Didn't have a chance to look at the resistor value.  Thanks for letting us know it is set 1000 times too high!
