Dumb port question

Ok, maybe I'm dumb, but if the differential board "Note: Supports 3-wire pixels only." then why are there 4 4 connection ports?

Not trolling but what am I missing?

This was done so those with other controllers which had the 4 wire connector didn't have to replace all of their euro connectors.  4 wire pixels are still out there, but they are very scarce these days.

The main controller board and the local expansion board support 4-wire pixels and thus need 4-pin connectors.  Keeping the 4-pin connectors on the differential receivers keeps the connectors and wiring consistent across all the boards.
