So I was testing out some lights I recently got and I plugged in all 16 ports with 100 strand 12v 2811s also hooked up my exp board and hooked 8 more to it
I have too  power supplies hooked up one on each bank
But when I power up and try running test mode my controller shuts down

Am I pulling to much power or is this a setup issue
I did not change any of the allocated pixels to the exp board seeing how there's only 100 pixels per port didn't see a need to

If I followed what you said, you have 2,400 12V pixels on two (I'm assuming 350W) power supplies.  If you have those on full white, you are almost certainly attempting to draw far more power than those two supplies can deliver.  My rule of thumb for 100% white pixels is 400 pixels at 12V and 1000 pixels at 5 volts.  Both of those allow a little headroom (more so on the 12V by a little).  If you are running lower percentage, you can get more pixels per power supply.

Now before someone calls me on my rule of thumb numbers, to be picky at 5V the max count is 1,166 pixels and at 12V the max count is 483.  Both of those figures assume 60mA per pixel - and there are differences.  However it is bad engineering practice to plan on running any power supply at 100%.

Put a volt meter on the power supply output when you do your test and you will see the voltage crask.

Ahh gotcha that's what I was thinking but just wanted to make sure as u all are far more experienced than I

Btw these were the lights you sold me
So I'm assuming I need to add an additional power supply or too to run my mega tree
I haven't had to power inject much as I'd never run 100 percent

is there a simple way to add more then 2 power supplies? With out risking over powering I know to add a fuse but just looking for a little guidance maybe a pic of ur setup u ran them on perhaps

Last two years, I ran those lights from two SanDevices E682 controllers.  Each half of a controller had a separate power supply and even with that, I had to run them at 50%.  If you do it with three power supplies, I would just use a third power supply on the expansion board.  If you want to split it out to four power supplies, re-arrange the strings a little so you use six output of each half of a board - i.e. outputs 1 - 6 and 9-14 on both the controller and expansion board for example.
