Hello all! I've been sequencing my first whole house show and I'm running into an issue with an effect I'm working on. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

I want to create a "swirling pixie dust" effect. So far I have used a morph effect where I make it a True Unmask in Layer Blending. Below that layer I'm using a twinkle effect, so that the morph reveals the twinkle layer below as it moves by. I used the Effect Assist to create a more distinct pathway for the morph movement.

This effect currently overrides anything else on the whole house model. I was hoping to have this display on top of anything running on the whole house model (the purple-ish circles are flood lights).

Also, is there a way to make this effect in a better manner than this? Looking for any tips everyone may have. I have included a picture of the effect setup and a video for reference.

I hope everyone is staying healthy!

I know that there is a Nutcracker topic here on the FalconChristmas forum, but you would be (maybe you have) better served posting a question like this on the actual xLights.org page.

Thanks, Jon. I was waiting for my new account to be approved on the Nutcracker forms and thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to post here as well.

i have seen a video (several months ago) where someone did a swirling kind of dust that just disappeared.  I remember thinking it was a really neat effect, but I have no clue who did that video.  Just letting you know that it is possible.

Here is a sequence I purchased from showstopper sequences a while back. Watch the video at 3:23.

I can't share the sequence but you might consider purchasing or reaching out to Michael about how he did it.

I just uploaded to the google drive free effects _new the Fairy Effect that folks worked on in Zoom a few months back when this subject came up. Perhaps it will fill the need? (Fairy Effect.xpreset)
