I've been looking and can't seem to find it anywhere, are there minimum system requirements for xlights to run on a computer? I've been running an old version of xlights on a Mac mini and ran into some issues this year but got it figured out. I'm hoping to upgrade after this Christmas and use it for next year. But I want to make sure it'll work on a computer I have, or I'll be upgrading that as well.

Thanks
David

The faster and more powerful the pc the better it will run. The only real requirement is that it's running a 64bit version of Windows for Windows pc's.

You mention Mac in the OP, so from the manual:
https://manual.xlights.org/xlights/chapters/chapter-three-installation/macintosh

"xLights will run on macOS 10.10 and above"

As for Windows, like AAH said... Windows 7 or newer and 64bit, seems to be the minimum you want.

Beyond that, more CPU power, generally the better.  If you have a large display, more RAM will help.  Some swear that SSD is helpful as well, but I haven't seen any real comparisons there.

Ok, my Mac mini is running 10.11.6, but when I tried to open it, it just sat there. So that's why I was wondering if I needed something faster. I'll look into it again after I'm done with this year. Thanks!

It is possible that the minimum bar has moved and the manual not updated.  It would likely be less about your CPU power and more about minimum OS version.

Does MacOS have an equivalent of the Task Manager in Windows?  With Task Manager, you can watch the CPU and Memory loading in near real time - and what is taking those.  Makes it real easy to see if you in need of a better computer.  About the only thing that does not show is video card loading - however for running a show, that is a non-issue in most cases.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.
