I'm considering adding a F48v4 to my display this year and I had a few questions that I was hoping folks could help to answer.

  • What power supply do folks normally buy to power it?
  • Are all the pixel limits per port for the v2 Smart Receivers still the same even if I daisy chain 6 together? I'm planning on running a total of 600 per port at 40FPS (100 pixels per port per smart receiver)
  • How good is the onboard wifi? I know F16v3 wifi didn't work the greatest, so I'm wondering if that's improved?
  • What is the distance you can go between v2 Smart Receivers that are daisy-chained? I know the distance documented from the controller itself, but I'm curious about the distance between v2 Smart Receivers?
  • If running the F48v4 as an FPP remote, do we still need to pull out the SD card to upload new sequences? I'm wondering if there is an option similar to FPP Connect to upload files automatically.
  • Does anyone know where I can find mounting plates for both the F48v4 and the v2 Smart Receivers?

Thank you all in advance!

fpp connect should work already with f48v4.

You basically have that correct.   The total pixel count on Smart Receiver ports 1a+1b+1c+1d+1e+1f all count up to the max pixels on "Port 1".

Thank you @pixelpuppy, I had heard things in the past where using Smart Receivers impacted your total pixel count per port due to some overhead involved with the Smart Receivers, so I was just making sure I'd be good. Cheers!

Well there is some overhead with smart mode that reduces the max count a bit.  I forget the exact number.  But even with the reduction it's still over 600 so your case of 100 pixels per receiver port and 600 per chain is within that
