Hi all, I need help bypassing controller power distribution (falcon f16v3).

My led arch is 5 meters away from the controller and I want to use different power supply but use the data from one port of the controller.
I need to share ground with F16v3 and the other power supply?

Is the attached schematics right?

Yep! You nailed it!

As Poporacer said, "Yep! You nailed it!"

Remember that both the data and the power need a return.  That is what the V- actually is.  A shared return of power and data.  Your diagram is right on.

On the other hand for future consideration you might pick up a differential receiver and use that with your distant prop.  An F16 will support a single receiver without any expansion boards.  In fact configured correctly you can actually have 20 ports off an F16 by using a single receiver.  I've done that a couple of times when I needed just one or two more ports in an area.  But you can add up to 4 ports (17, 18, 19. 20).  Something to remember as you expand your show in the future and we all expand even though we think we won't.  sigh.
