So I have a LOR controller connected to my ras pi via ethernet, but I can't figure out how to get them communicating. any ideas?

The LOR controllers are using RS-485 serial communications with either the Light-O-Rama data protocol or DMX data protocol.  Plugging a LOR controller into an Ethernet device CAN result in the magic blue smoke leaking out of something.  To use a LOR controller with FPP, you need to treat it like a DMX device with a RS-485 adapter.
The above applies unless you are trying to use a Pixcon16 controller which CAN communicate via E1.31.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.
