Hello all,

With some help from the main man himself, Mr. Dkulp, I've gotten my first very simple cape designed and built!

I designed this for an application I had where I needed just a few strings of pixels out where it wasn't practical to have a big control box.  I made the board fit into a small IP68 rated enclosure with cable gland fittings on each end to accept a meanwell IP67 power supply cord into one end and have the data cable come out the other end.  No fancy stuff here, just simple and easy to deploy.

I included the heavy duty data driver circuitry that I have spent a lot of time developing (no relation to the other drivers I have seen on here).  Two new things that I have not seen before that I incorporated are RGB data pixel LEDs on the board to quickly see if you have output even with no pixels attached (they don't affect addressing), and DIP switches to select "high" and "low" data driver impedance to best match the wire going to the pixels.  I've found that being able to choose how much drive power each data wire gets can make systems with non-ideal wire lengths and configurations more stable.  RF engineering is complicated, with 2 choices you can just see which one works best!.

Everything seems solid in testing and I'm already working on fancier models now that I know the concept is good.

I don't know what the demand is for something like this right now but I am able to produce them if anyone wants one.

I am building pixel interface capes for BBB - http://www.ledpixeldriver.com
