using f16v4 in player mode

I'm able to run xlight sequences in e131 mode, but can't figure out how to get them to run in player mode. 

I copied a working fseq file to a fat32 formatted micro sd card and put it in the f16v4 slot.  I selected player mode in the control panel.  When I hit the play button, I get an error message "unable to open fseq"

What have I done wrong?  Thanks for any advice.

I used to get this al the time too. What worked for me was ensuring in xlights that my fseq files were in the "V2 ZLIB" format. To set this, go to PREFERENCES -> SEQUENCES -> FSEQ VERSION.

If you use fpp connect to upload the files, it should do all of this for you
