One of my SR (1.04) has stopped working. I ordered some new SRx1 v4.00 ones.  Can I just replace one of my 1.04 receivers with the new v4.00?  How would the dip switches and rotary settings be applied?  There are only two SR's in the chain.  The v4.00 would be first and the 1.04 would be last.  Would the rotary on the v4 be set to 'A' and keep the settings on the old receiver?

I don't own a v4.00.  A lot of times there is setting info printed on the back of the SR board.  The below specs might have what you are looking for.  I would guess setting "A" as well.  By default termination is set to on, so if the v4.00 is first in the chain you would need to turn off termination.
