since the controller can do alot of panels. can i set 3 panels together than another 3 and space them 2ft apart than connect 3 more and so on  using 1 controller and power supply?

mello_roberto

Yes, but you have a limit of 8 panels per port.

Yes.  One of the features I want to add this year would let you treat each of those 3-panel sections as a separate matrix without having to resort to using custom models in your sequencer.  My display layout will need this ability so it will be high on my priority list.  :)

If you put your controller in the middle and used two ports , you could achieve 3 + 3 (+ 2) on either side .

Is this what i can do? or can add more panels with one controller set up. Remember i want to have a 2ft space between each 3 connected panels.

CaptainMurdoch

Is 15 the total number of panels you want to run?  If so, then yes, put the BBB/Octoscroller in the middle and put 8 panels on the first output connector and 7 on the second output connector.  The reason I say do it this way rather than using more than 2 outputs is because when we optimize the Octoscroller output code later this year, you will end up getting a higher refresh by using fewer outputs.  You should be able to go 3 feet between panels, but you may want to test with yours first before building the whole display.

Good to know.  This week I am setting up a 15 panel display item and was torn between putting the BBB in the middle and zig zagging the panels or running more outputs.
