Ok, I am certain this is not new to a few of you.  This October I decided that for next year I want to remove my white incandescent lights from my xmas tree (yes fake - allergies) and buy or create RGB 5mm lights controlled by Wifi.  I started looking for the store bought items, I went on Amazon and bought a 200 rgb bluetooth version (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CXJ92DC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and I looked at Twinkly, a WiFi controlled unit.  The first, I found issues w/ Bluetooth connectivity - the second, while I did not buy the unit, I am not a fan of the design.  So that leads me to buy the RGB 5mm string and then use (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZBXR9P/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=A10EBIWSC326FJ&psc=1) for a possible remote controller and app.

Question out there, has anyone tried something like this?  Have you seen an RGB 5mm xmas string?

The issue w/ the bluetooth - tied to one device (my iPhone X) and I travel so that is issue one, the second, the timer on the app - if you killed the power to the lights the timer needs to be reset and since I use Alexa to turn all indoor xmas lights on/off that was issue two and the third, since the unit does not have a "high end" bluetooth unit, after the phone walks away from the range, I would need to reconnect the device to the phone.

Looking at the description of those Pixels, it is never clear what "chipset" type they are, or if they are even smart pixels. I'm a bit concerned about them only listing a small list of color outputs. The pictures of lighted pixels always show them ALL to be the same color, not a mix like true smart pixels can do.
