How to setup and configure controllers in xLights I have a few.

I have a few controllers that I would like to properly set up and configure before the christmas season that way I am able to host a functional and expansive show. I have the Falcon F16V5, the Falcon F16V4 with 16 expansion ports(32 total), and the SR x4 V4 from falcon as well. I also tried to flash my Raspberry Pi4 with FPP earlier this year but was unable to figure out how to correctly do that and if I need the pi-hat. I'm using xLights and can connect these controllers to a wifi network if needed however I would prefer that I don't run them on wifi if possible. Could anyone give me some basic setup tips? For the previous shows that I have run, I only used one controller and kept it in Player mode while swapping the SD card when I need to change/add files. Thanks

You don't need a pi-hat. FPP can be the player for your other controllers.

Put your xLights pc, FPP and your controllers plugged into a switch. No wi-fi needed.

Burn the RPi image that you downloaded from https://github.com/FalconChristmas/fpp/releases/tag/9.3 on a sdcard. Insert card into RPi, turn it on and in about 10 minutes, visit FPP.local in a browser,

In xLights, go to the controller tab. Click Discovery. Did it find your "stuff". If not, set the device manually filling in the vendor, model and IP address. 

Now you can

Is there a reason that you do not want to use Wi-Fi?  But in any case, this might help

The Falcon line of controllers "can" be used as players or remotes, but it is VERY limited. Most people prefer to use an FPP based Player (typically a Raspberry Pi)
