Hi all,
I have a new f16 v5 with a invalid firmware message.    Git hub have a file in Fl3 but  cannot open it. Can someone advise how I go about uploading to the F16v5 please. I am not a computer "geek"  so please if you can walk me through the steps.

Someone had a similar error a week or so ago and it was because they had 5v pixels and the board did not have enough power.

I have checked this and all is ok across the board and pixels.   My issue is that the board is saying invalid firmware.  i have loaded the Fl3 file to sd card inserted and booted up.  All was ok then it dropped all and went back to the original message on the oled.  Have tried several more times but the file wont stay.
what is going on !!!!

There is no F16v5 manual and I don't own one.  With it being possibly under warranty I would call/email Pitts.

I would guess you need to factory reset it, and try to install a new firmware image.  It might be the same process as the v4 series?  Section 5 "Firmware Update or Factory Reset" covers that on the V4 series.

Can someone advise on ip addresses please.  Falcon is indicating 192.168.40.183.  laptop I am using is 192.168.40.94.   I am missing something somewhere I think.  running out of ideas  tried a factory reset and uploading firmware, reloaded xlights, checked power inputs, basically I am almost ready to give up again.  Falcon F16v5 without a manual is in my opinion useless.  i am running out of interest with this board and with this system.  there is a lot of advice about but so far nothing I have tried has worked.  I need if at all possible comprehensive instructions as to how to get the blasted thing to work.   Not had this with F16v4 although it took a bit of messing about with the V5 seems to be very different beast.

The subnet mask would define the range.  What are the subnet masks of the Falcon and the laptop?

If both the Falcon and your laptop both have the typical 255.255.255.0 subnet masks, then both devices are within range of each other.  Your IPs are fine.  If ether device has a different mask such as 255.255.255.255, then it may need to be adjusted.

You could try the xLights zoom room.  https://zoom.us/j/175801909?pwd=ZU1hNzM5bjJpOGZ1d1BOb1BzMUFndz09
