Anyone else having FPP 8.0 issues with Remote Falcon?

Tis the season and starting to set out lights.  I don't really have a Halloween display, but have permanent lighting lit up orange, and have some Halloween images playing on the matrices in the evening.  I mainly have Remote Falcon running so that I can test the lights as they are going up.

Not having issues during the "Show", but my lead-in and lead-out FPP commands are not working properly.  For example, my playlist should turn-off voting, but that is not working.  If I open the Remote Falcon plug-in, everything seems to work on the plug-in page itself, but if I try to use a FPP command many do not work.

I can reach out to James, but was curious if anybody else is having Remote Falcon FPP Command issues?

I am not having this issue. I put the Turn on Viewer Control in the Lead in and the Turn Viewer Control in the Lead out and it turned on and off as expected.

I am on ver 8 and the most current version of the RF plugin. You might try to uninstall and reinstall the plugin to make sure you have the most current version.

One thing that can make it "look" like things are not working is that if you have songs from RF in the Queue at the time that your scheduled Playlist is supposed to stop, it will not stop until the queue is cleared (so lead out does not get processed.) If people keep selecting songs, the queue will never get cleared and the show can play indefinitely.
A common practice is to put the Turn Viewer control Off in a separate schedule by itself to turn off 20 minutes before your show is supposed to end (or whatever amount of time works based on your queue size) and put that schedule at the top of your list so it has a higher priority.

Let us know if any of these things fixed it

I have been running Remote Falcon for at least 3 years and it started immediately after upgrading to FPP 8.0.  At first I noticed some of my "Big Buttons" had lost the FPP Remote Falcon command programming.  I was hitting the big button, but the button was not programmed to do anything.  All the other Big Button programming was working, but most of the buttons with Remote Falcon commands were missing the programming.  I added the programming back, but even with the correct programming they were still broken.

I have removed and reinstalled the Remote Falcon and Big Button plug-in multiple times, and just upgraded the Remote Falcon plug-in the other day and it is up to date.  I had added some new props and was outside testing them last night after the schedule, but was not the nights prior.  Also, this morning I noticed the viewer control was still on and tried to hit my Big Button option to "Turn Viewer control Off" and "Restart Listener" and neither resolved, but I was able to open the Remote Falcon plug-in and "restart the listener" and that resolved immediately.  The Playlist Lead-Out is not using the Big Button plug-in, so that makes me think it is not a Big Button plug-in issue.

I will keep looking into it.  Just curious if it was a known issue.

My gut has not ruled out gremlin somewhere, but is better now.  I accidentally had added the same song in the FPP Remote Falcon playlist twice. Adding the same song to a RF playlist more than once appears to corrupt things.  If I synchronized the playlist a few times, the duplicates started showing up 6-8 times on the Remote Falcon website side.  I eliminated the duplicates in FPP RemoteFalcon playlist, and cleared out the ghost entries on the RF Website and it stabilized.

I think you are suggesting if a prankster tanked up the votes it could run all night?  If things are working correctly there should not be any votes to clear at lead_out.  The vote clear probably fixed an issue that happen years ago and I just did not remove it.  It always seemed like after the normal playlist schedule ended, if someone was out there using Remote Falcon it would keep playing songs until they left, and after all the votes had played, it would return to the normal playlist and play the lead_out.  I guess I don't ever remember the Remote Falcon website still active in the morning or the FM transmitter still on in the past.  I will keep an eye on that though... Thanks!

Or if you have multiple people outside at the end of your show.

It isn't about clearing the votes, it is about turning the Viewer Control off. As long as sequences are playing from RF, FPP is NOT in your "scheduled" playlist so the end time is not getting triggered.

And that is what I was talking about....The viewer control will be on until all of the votes are processed so it could actually run forever as long as people keep voting.

That's because at some point people quit voting so it will run the Lead Out once the votes get processed.
If you don't mind your show running past your "scheduled" end time, then nothing to worry about.

Understood that the normal playlist lead_out should not be playing if there were still RF votes left in the queue.  Votes are limited to 1 per device, so even if they tanked them to capacity before they left, they would all play out within a half hour after the car leaves.  Unless the car was still outside at 7:00am the next morning, there should not be any votes left in the queue the next morning.

Pretty sure my issues are not related to votes still in the queue, but I will keep an eye on it.  Thanks!

Remote Falcon still seems to be having issues.  I am at FPP 8.2 and RemoteFalcon was removed and reinstalled to latest version.

Not all of the FPP RF commands are working.  For example.... the vote reset command does not appear to work at all for me.  I can add votes and hit the clear button and it does not ever clear them.

If I stop the RemoteFalcon listener, the playlist stops and goes back to the normal playlist, but the Website still shows as on-line, and the votes still show in the queue.  Votes still can not be cleared.

The above are recreatable, but does not seem to start or stop correctly at other random times.  The normal playlist will be playing, but the RF website shows off line, and the normal playlist is out of schedule and the Remote Falcon website show it is on-line.  If I restart the listener on the RF plug-in page it usually corrects the issue.  Restarting from the FFP command does not seem to fix.

Don't know if I should reformat and start over, or if anyone else is having issues?
