Pi to PX1

Looking for an inexpensive and simple setup, wondering if this will work

Raspberry Pi 2 running FPP and usb for wifi ---
connect to PX1 via ethernet port
PX1 connect to WS2811 pixel string

will this work connect raspberry pi dirrect to PX1 controller via ethernet port?
or I will need another device between Pi and PX1?

You would need a USB RS485 adapter between the Pi and the PX1.
