SPI Channel Output

I'm trying to drive a 1 meter strip of APA102 lights using the spi from the raspberry pi. Running on FPP v6.3. Whenever i try to play a sequence it just starts to display a whole bunch of jibberish on the strip. An error message pops up on FPP saying that an error occurred when trying to output Generic SPI.

When you say "jibberish" I'll assume it just isn't what you expected. A one meter strip isn't much of a display except for color washes. What are you sending to that GPIO? something you created in xLights?

It ended up being just chaning the virtual EEPROM to spixels and then it would give me the apa102 option. I have created my own raspberry pi hat to communicate to the apa102 strip and have connectors instead of depending on a breadboard
