Trouble with Master and remotes

I'm having a strange problem. I've set up an FPP system for an art gallery installation consisting of 4 synced videos.

At first everything worked fine, but today when I turned everything on it completely glitched out.

The video from the master would play correctly, but the three remotes would freeze or be very gittery.

But then when I would stop the playback on the master, the three remotes would actually continue playing the videos properly, without the gitter.

The only way I was able to get all four videos to play correctly again was to switch the master to then be a remote, which doesn't make any sense to me, because at that point there is no "master" but somehow they were all still syncing, to something... Any ideas about what is going wrong here? 

I completely wiped all for raspberry pi's and reinstalled FPP, and the same issue repeated itself. Never had this issue with the program before..

This tends to happen when more than one unit is sending out sync packets on the shows network.  Make sure that all of your remotes are set to not send them and make sure that there was no devices added to that network like a PC running Xlights and set to output data.
