Show Freezing (Resolved)

Hello.

My show keeps randomly freezing.  I'm not able to pinpoint a specific time of day, day of week or song/sequence that it freezes during... it seems to be random.
The only thing I have been able to dermine which increases (but not guarantee) the chance of freezing is sometime during the playlist following using FPP Connect in XLights [current version] to update one of the sequences in the playlist.

Controller Config:  Falcon F16V4 + 16 Port Expansion board
Controller mode:  Player
Network:  Ethernet (but wifi also enabled)

I don't think he's using FPP, sounds like he's running F16 in player mode.  Could this be a rendering issue in xlights? Maybe using V1 rather than V2?

That could be.  If it was a V2 issue it would not be random though would it?  It would lock up on newly complied songs, and not the old ones?

If it were me, I would try changing rendering from V2 to V1 and batch render. Put the V1 sequences on the F16 and see what happens. If it doesn't work switch the sequences back to V2 and hopefully someone will have a better solution.

Issue Resolved.


My show has ran for several nights in a row now without any freezing.

I had a show duration that ran a little over 30 minutes (including a 30 second "welcome" animation and a 10 minute "thanks for watching" ending animation)... so the total length of the show as like 32-35 minutes.  On the schedules page, I had setup several non-repeating shows with each one starting 30 minutes after the one before it from 5:00-10:00pm with the hopes that each show would cut-off the "thanks for watching" animation between shows...

Instead, now I have a single schedule setup from 5:00-10:00pm on repeat.  (no other changes were made)

Not having overlapping schedules has stopped all of my freezing issues.

I also had this problem - solved it by unchecking the "Internet Access" check box towards the bottom of the "Settings" page.  After reviewing the "Debug" file I saw the F16V4 was trying to get the time off the internet when no internet was available. Guess this threw the sequence off and it froze.  Since unchecking the "Internet Access" box have not had this problem.
