Expansion board and Diff Receiver CApacity

I searched but not sure I was searching correct terms.
I have a F16 V3 board and 1 expansion board.   From that I have connected 2 network cables that go to 2 chained Diff Receivers.
I saw on the website that the expansion board can handle 4 diff receivers.  Have I maxed out my board?  Or can I add 2 more network cables to 2 each Diff receivers?

If you are talking about the 4 port differential expansion, it will support 4 Smart Receivers (SR) in normal mode, or up 3 SRs per port in smart mode.  (4 in normal mode, 12 in smart mode) You need to be at firmware 2.55 at minimum and 2.59 would be better to use in smart mode.   

If you are talking about the DMX ports on the right side of the F16v3, it will only support a single SR in normal mode, or up to 3 smart receivers in smart mode.

I want to confirm what you have.  You said that you have:

Do you mean the 16 string port board or the expansion board that has four RJ-45 jacks that are all serial expansion port?
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

Sorry  I have the  F16V2/F16V3 Differential Expansion Board w/ribbon cable and  4-String Differential SmartReceiver Board connected to  F16V3 Pixel Controller

Sounds like you have the first two ports of the expansion board used, with two remaining free.  You should be able to add a couple more to the remaining free ports then.

With Smart Diff Receivers, you can have three receivers on each port.  Make sure to read the section of the manual explaining channel limitations when doing so.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

The manual was written with Firmware 2.0 and as JonD said above firmware 2.55 added smart receiver capability turning the original limit of 4 to a limit of 12.

It will handle 4 receivers in normal mode. (one receiver per port)  It will not support installing 4 receivers per port.  The F16v3 can only support 3 chained smart receivers per port (A,B,C mode). 

As @k6ccc and @K-State Fan mentioned, each port will only support so many nodes, which allocation can be adjusted with a slider.  Using additional smart receivers will spread the available nodes across the chain.  If you have long power injected light strings, adding receivers may not help you if you're already at the allocation limit, but the average user would be fine adding another receiver.
