Hi, I have a Kulp K4-PB with a pocketbeagle that is run on a wired network connection.  I have it in a metal enclosure as its indoor and runs our Christmas Tree in the dining room.  Since its a stand alone system, I was thinking of moving it over to wifi but was looking to see if anyone has a wifi adapter recommendation that has an external antenna I could mount through the metal enclosure.  I was looking around and didn't see any message here or on other xmas forums.  I wanted to see if you guys have anything that may work for my use case.  Thanks!

I would try it without switching to an external antenna.  You might be surprised. I don't use metal boxes, but if you only have one layer of metal and a very short distance it might be just fine since you really only need to upload sequences to it once unless you are trying to make it part of your show.  My inside tree uses a PiZeroW with a small picap (in a CG500 box).  I made multiple little sequences to change colors etc for my wife, but all she does is play one sequence which is just the butterfly effect with sparkles on repeat.  sigh

I have used this one from Kulp and also an EDUP from Amazon

Thanks for the replies!  I'll test out without a external antenna first as the wireless access point is only about 20 foot from the tree and that I am not "streaming" to the tree

I ended up finding an extension cable on AliExpress.   Ordered a 10cm cable and it works perfect.  I suspect I loose a little power on the WiFi but I only need it to upload sequences to it so it should be good to go.

Could you use a USB extension cable instead of a WiFi coax cable? Then you wouldn't get that minor dB loss from the coax.
