I have looked at a ton of pictures, searched reddit and youtube and found nothing. Anyone have a reference on how the fan mounts to the board? I'm at a loss.

The F5 model does not come with a manual and I don't own one personally.  I am not aware of any fans that attach to the controller board.  What does the fan look like?  Could it be included to attach to the case instead of F48v5?  People in warmer climates often need to install vents/fan to exchange air out of the controller box to help keep it cool?

If someone smarter does not respond, you might reach out to Falcon support.  If they don't respond there is always the xlights zoom room as well.

I only have an F16V3 which I am running at 12V. So I use a 12V fan. I believe the F48 only runs off 5V, so you would need an appropriately sized 5V 4pin PWM fan (verify !!). Do not know what the current rating of the board port is, so I would avoid the high power, high current model fans.  The fan attaches to the 4pin fan header on the board. The fan is for enclosure ventilation (particularly if PSU's are in the enclosure). The fan does not directly mount on the F48 board. There is a menu option to set up the temperature etc. The fan will adjust speed as needed. Also a 3pin fan can be plugged in but will just run full speed all the time.

From memory it comes with a 3d printed mount that goes in this area of the board

Yeah I stared at it long enough before I found that spot. Thanks.

Prof - no this board can do either 5 or 12v
