Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can help me with the subject. I am getting a red bar at the top of my FPP console after entering my broker information etc. that says "Abnormal Conditions - May Cause Poor Performance MQTT Disconnected". Can you all help me figure out what is going on. Essentially I had this working when I had a raspberry pi 3 as my home assistant instance. Now I am using a raspberry pi 4 as my home assistant instance and I can't seem to get it to talk to the raspberry pi 3 that has FPP on it. Originally, I had the raspberry pi 4 as the fpp instance and the raspberry pi3 as the home assistant instance and everything was working fine. Thank you all for any guidance you can give me. Is there a certain order this all needs to be done in?

Also to add one more piece of information, that I don't think it matters but, the media player (https://github.com/koolsb/ha-fpp)) that was created for home assistant seems to work fine.

But mqtt is not functioning properly. Also, it doesn't look like I can get the home assistant plugin to make lights available within home assistant. I assume these are connected issues because I believe they both rely on mqtt.

Can you restart fppd and then check the fppd.log file for error messages after the message appears in the UI?  You can see this in the File Manager under the Logs tab.

I'm sorry CaptainMurdoch, I think this was another user error on my part. I hadn't reset a few of my static IPs on my network so the broker IP was wrong that I had inputted within fpp. I'm sorry about that, everything is working well now. Maybe this will trigger someone elses memory in the future that has the same issue. Thank you for always reaching out to help even though it turns out I'm a monkey sometimes. I'm very happy with how it all works. You all have done awesome with this!

CaptainMurdoch

You probably wasted a whole 2 seconds of my time, shame on you.  :)

Glad you got it working, thanks for reporting back.  It helps when users' update threads when a fix is discovered.  Some even edit the title to put something like "(SOLVED)" in the title to make it easier for others to find when searching for troubleshooting help.

@CaptainMurdoch Years later. Hello! :-) I actually can't figure out how to edit the title on the forum. Maybe it is because I am trying to edit it so much later. I actually came back because I am having issues in HA again with regards to mqtt connection to fpp. I will start a new thread this afternoon with details if I can't figure it out. Currently, I am running v. 2.0 of FPP so I will update to 8.5 and reboot a few things and see if the issue goes away.
