LSP to FPP conversion troubles

I would like to switch from LSP to xLights, but would very much like to export my existing sequences so that they can play on the FPP.  I plan to redo most of my songs later in xLights, but until then, if I could at least play them on the FPP then I can redo the songs as I have time.

I have searched the forums and tried multiple tips, but something just isnt clicking.  I can export from LSP to the conductor file.  Then use xLights to create the sequence for the FPP.  When I play the sequence on the FPP it actually starts to play but after about 10-15 seconds in all lights go out.

My setup is as follows,  Pixlite16 & 2 Ren24 controllers flashed with DMX firmware.  I am running the Renards off of the ethernet bridge on the Pixlite.   I ran my show this way using the LSP scheduler last Christmas so I know it all works.

I can use the test feature on the FPP and everything seems ok, so I feel like it is something with my setup of controllers inside of LSP or xLites.

From what I have read, all channels need to be account for, and I have done that.

I feel like a little guidance will get me there, so any input would be appreciated.  I can provide screenshots, and other info of the setup.

Many thanks to all who contribute to this fantastic hobby.

Your method seems pretty sound and same goes for your thoughts about the controllers/outputs might be off.  This is pretty typical.  Usually there is confusion about the actual channels being used and their universes, especially with XL.  Yes, throw some screen shots up and let's take a look.  Start with XL.  That said, ran into something similar before and that ended up a bad cable...

It also helps to recall what is happening during the sequence when it stops.  Same elements should be blinking or some other elements failing to turn on?  That usually pinpoints the issue.

Thanks for the reply Sam.

Here is the config for xlights.  Strange thing is, I can create effects and play them just fine in xlights.  But I feel sure I am missing something in the setup.

Usually the issue is that some guys setup a universe for each prop and things are off but not here.  I think most guys myself included run multicast but yours appears to be setup fine (controller IP matches XL).  It's probably something else.

When you export to conductor format, all controllers are checked (scroll down and verify).  The range is complete right?  On 2.8 its a solid green bar.

Yeah, I tried to keep it simple by making each port a universe.

Each controller is selected and I have a solid green bar.

It's very odd, when the sequence starts on the fpp, it works, I get output to the bridge, and the lights work, about 10 seconds or so in they just go out.  I believe that is the point at which the first pixels are being activated in the sequence.  I will have to check the channel assignments on those elements.

Would it help if I sent you the sequences?

Everyone has their own way to do it and that's cool.  I think that using LSP really spoils me as I completely forget about channel numbers etc.  Same with FPP.  Once it's all dialed in, I am literally making changes to sequences, tweaking, exporting and importing to FPP while it's running live.  When I first setup, I typically run into having the prop and ports swapped or reversed.  I made a short sequence that turns each prop on in order to debug that.

I think you may need to have the output configured in LSP to export.  Have that done?

I'll shoot a PM with my email and send the sequence.  We can work together and try and debug but sounds like your real close.

When a sequence starts and then quits, it is often a music issue with naming of songs and/or sequences.  Make sure you have no spaces or special characters in your seq or media names and I would make them match.

Forgot about that one.  Thanks Jim.

I will try renaming the song when I get home from work.

Just to be clear, the FPP doesn't stop playing the sequence, I still hear the music, and can see the play timer on the FPP dash,  the lights just suddenly stop.  After saying that, the lights always go out at the same point.

Sam,  I will send the sequence when I get home this evening.

I really appreciate the help, hopefully I can get this thing figured out.

I saw that on a couple of my sequences years back when I used LSP.  Make some changes to the sequence and resave/export.
