My current setup uses a network switch on porch with Cat5 running to 5 remote controllers. I do it this way due to run distance and each controller is running about 1700-1900 pixels each. The Cat5 is known to have better data strength over distance. From controllers, a 18/3 wire carries output to each element.

I am planning for 2019 to bring controllers all together to more central location but am concerned over data loss via the now longer 18/3 wire. From switch/controllers new location, several runs will be 65-80 feet.

Anyone care to weigh in on data/power issues at this distance?
