Something seems backwards here .. you want the gateway on the wifi side - the side that goes back to your pc/internet.
Normally this scenario has eth0 set to a different vlan ie ..not .2. from the wifi side.

Falcon Player (FPP) / FPP 8.5.1 on Pi 4B LAN and WAN...

3 identical Raspberry Pi 4Bs with 8GB RAM and 128GB SD cards.

Running latest FPP 8.5.1

One Pi set as master player and 2 as remotes.  All sync up and play fine together via dedicated wifi network.  Lights blink everywhere.

But...

When I try to log into any Pi wirelessly to check FPP, the connection times out.  On that Pi I can disconnect the data cable going to the controllers and then get in wirelessly to check FPP.  Plug the pixel controller data cable back into the Pi and wireless access disappears again.

Yet I know wireless is working because the 3 Pis are in perfect sync.

Frustrating.  Am I doing an unnatural act?

Here is how each Pi is configured:

Unit 1: Set as FPP Player
etho set to static address 192.168.2.200, netmask 255.255.0.0 and gateway at 192.168.1.1
wlan0  set to static address 192.168.2.201, netmask 255.255.0.0 and no gateway.  It logs into a dedicated wifi network

Unit 2: Set as FPP Remote
etho set to static address 192.168.2.202, netmask 255.255.0.0 and gateway at 192.168.1.1
wlan0  set to static address 192.168.2.203, netmask 255.255.0.0 and no gateway.  It logs into same dedicated wifi network

Unit 3: Set as FPP Remote
etho set to static address 192.168.2.204, netmask 255.255.0.0 and gateway at 192.168.1.1
wlan0  set to static address 192.168.2.205, netmask 255.255.0.0 and no gateway.  It logs into same dedicated wifi network

Any suggestions on what might be happening?

If you head over to the Xlights zoom room, I am sure they can help you setup the FPP side.

Hello!
I am quite new here, and am creating a project with FPP ran on my Raspberry Pi 4B.
I have acquired many LED Panels, and configured them properly with my 5A-75B colorlight card on software V11.
However, when I go to setup the output in FPP, my panel dimensions are not listed within the dropdown.

Is there any workaround for this? Or do I have to purchase new panels?
Buying new panels would be horrendous for me, as I already own 30+ panels of 104x52 26S.

Any guidance would be appreciated, thanks!

Quote from: geeman1082 on May 02, 2025, 09:37:34 AMFor the record, here is the release note that made me think it might be possible, and maybe just not documented yet because it was only added 6 months ago ... but I perhaps I was trying to read what I wanted to be and not what it really is:

Build 33 : 2024-11-20
 - Enh : Add an input action for next/prior/first playlist looped
- Enh : Add DMX input mode for low channel count -> large pixel count control
- Enh : Add player command to turn on/off test mode
- Fix : Universe counter incorrect when multiple E1.31 rows defined
The F16v4 doesn't have hardware to receive DMX input.  I expect that is a mistake in the release notes.  The F16v5 and F48v5 likely has hardware to receive input on its Smart Receiver ports so perhaps they accept DMX through those with that new feature?  Contact support@pixelcontroller.com directly to find out and let us know.

Quote from: k6ccc on May 01, 2025, 07:21:14 AMIt would not make much sense to tie up a F16 controller that can drive many thousands of pixels using a communications protocol that can only support 170 pixels.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm told the typical projects will indeed include thousands of pixels (understanding that each universe can only control 170, as you noted), and we expect to be using the Falcon controller for other projects (which would typically be stand-alone, controlled by a Pi running FPP), so standardizing on the F16V4 seemed like a good idea if it could handle the task.  But I guess that's not going to be in an available option.

Quote from: MikeKrebs on April 30, 2025, 10:02:05 PMAs an alternative, a DMX to SPI converter could be used. Better to get a dedicated device that can handle it? Maybe something like:
https://www.superlightingled.com/dmx512-to-spi-converter-dsa-for-led-strip-light-kit-p-1240.html

A home built solution might be able to handle this. For 20 bucks, get a WT32, add some input components, and do some DMX in, e1.31 out.
That of course is the other option.  I'll look at that specific option you mentioned.  Thanks for the reply.
