Hi everyone,

I bought the F16V4 Expansion Board with ribbon cable and the connector part came with the plastic piece crack off.     I haven't even open it out of the package but wondering if this is a structural thing that if I connect and remove the ribbon a couple times that it would start bending the pins or something.   I haven't tested it yet because I'm saving to buy the larger enclosure for this and the main board.   Is this something I should be concern about?

Personally I think it would be fine.  Most often that board gets mounted somewhere in a case and doesn't move again. The pins provide a ton of support.
I think most practical purpose of the outside plastic edge is to keep you from plugging it in incorrectly. There are many electronics that have pins with no plastic around them at all. Just look at a Raspberry Pi!

Good perspective, didn't think about it that way.  Hopefully there's nothing wrong with the board when I get a chance to test it out..   Thanks!
