I will add peace stakes to my display for next year. I see a lot of products out there, with some using PVC to attach to the peace stake. Has anyone just drilled holes in a 1 foot PVC, install the pixels and then shove it in the ground?

I don't see spending additional money on a prop to connect to a PVC Pipe or other items.

Suggestions and Comments welcome. ;D

There is a vid out there of a guy doing that but also melting and bending part of the pole back to make like a leg to it.

I noticed that video, but confused why he didn't just make it longer and shove the PVC in ground. I guess it may be easier to get a yard spike and drive in the ground with a hammer.

I may go this route, but need to price the yard spike and figure it in to the cost of 80 pixel stakes.

As for you first question, it's really just a matter of time and skill vs money.  Have you tried drilling all those holes in PVC pipe and then either splitting the back or threading the nodes into the pipe and then fitting them into place?  It's a lot of work and take a lot of time and I know because I have done it for ALL of my permanent pixels on my house.  If you have the time and tools to properly align, space, and drill 5 to 10 holes in 80 stakes that you intend to make, then go for it, I did with my framing nodes but not everybody had the time, tools, or the skill to do that and these products give them the ability to create these props without them.

Amen to that!  For my 2nd and 4th builds of my pixel tree, I sawed 3/4 inch PVC pipe in half lengthwise (table saw helps with that).  Then drilled 600 holes for the pixels (plus 24 for mounting) on the 2nd build and 2600 holes for the pixels (plus 52 for mounting) on the 4th build.  Then pressed each pixel into the holes.  It takes A LOT of time and effort.  Also burned up the motor on my drill press on the 600 pixel build (let it cool once in a while).  if you want to see what that looked like, take a look at:  http://newburghlights.org/pixel_tree.html

Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

If you are ok with a bit shorter pixel stakes (5 or 6 nodes), then 3D printed stuff works well and generally a lot less work.  Get 6-8 of them printing on the printer, walk away for a few hours, start the next batch, etc....

If you don't have a 3D printer, I sell them as well:

We took 18" white PEX, drilled 12mm holes an inch apart and hammered the remaining end (about 6" worth) into the ground. We took a 100 ct strand and cut into into 10's and wired them all together with about 3' worth of wire so they are 2' apart in the ground. Works wonderfully!

Hello 2Couyon, I used holidaycoro pixel pipe, it comes pre drilled for 12mm pixel bullets, and three colors, I used them to build a pixel forest, it comes in roughly 88 inches long, and can be cut to any length you need within 88 inches, here is the link https://www.holidaycoro.com/PixelPipe-Pre-Drilled-Pixel-Mounting-Pipe-p/1800.htm
hope it helps you...
