I have just installed FPP on my raspberry pi 4b for the first time. I am accessing my pi/FPP from a USB to ethernet dongle. I cannot access either http://ffp.local or http://fpp. I get an error message that states that the site can't be reached. However, I also tried http://127.0.1.1. At least I got a response. But it is asking for a login ID and password. Does anyone know what the ID and password is? I searched the manual and could not find any reference to it.

Have you tried fpp.local?  The username and password is whatever you set it to when you first accessed it.  Are you sure 127.0.1.1 is the FPP?  It's likely not if it's asking for a username/password?

What do you mean by USB to Ethernet dongle?

JimWright

I am out of ethernet ports on my system. I already have 4 networks running on my show computer. Therefore, I am trying to run my sign on a USB to GB dongle. It turns a 3.xx USB port into a separate and independent 1GB ethernet port.

Also, to answer the first question above, I have tried the .local address also. I guess my next step is to erase the Micro memory card on the Pi and try again.

You have talked about a USB to Ethernet adapter apparently on your show computer, and FPP on a Raspberry Pi.  What is connected to what, and on what device are you running a web browser that is attempting to connect to the FPP installation?  Your description leaves a lot of assumptions.
Yes, the devil is in the details.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.
