IP67 buttons in snow/ice

Has anyone had any experience with exposing such buttons to users in a cold/icy climate?

I'd like to replicate this design (credits to Jacob) :


If need be I might need to add a cover on top of the button to prevent water getting into the button and freezing in there. Something like this:


But then it's not very inviting, isn't it ? ;)
