OK, I get the onboard switch allows you to daisy chain controllers, but is there a way to come off one controller into 2 other controllers instead one, to another, to another?  Reason being, I come out of my house, hit one controller, then the next. Added a 3rd controller for a larger tree this year. Options?

Not on the Falcon that I am aware of, but you can use a third party switch if you want to.

Ya, I was hoping to avoid having to build a "switch" box for out there, LOL. But guess that's going to have to do. Or, build it into one of the current boxes, but they are pretty tight as it is.

I have seen some small three ports switches out there, but make sure it is a gigabit switch.  100mb would not be fast enough.

full disclosure, I don't not like using the built in switches on the controllers to "daisy chain" the ethernet connections.. However it is supported and if having only a handful of controllers it would work fine.  You can go from your network connection to 1st controller, then from 1st to 2nd controller, then from 2nd to 3rd controller.  Just keep in mind that the traffic destined for the 3rd controllers will have to pass through the first two to get there.  It will likely be just fine for most residential shows.
