Is there a maximum number of schedules you can have on the F16v4 in Player mode? I'm setting up my first show and I want shows every 30 minutes with filler in between. However, when I got to 16 total schedules, the "Add" button on the schedule page became greyed out. Any idea why or suggestions on how to coordinate my schedule better?

Best guess is - that's the limit. Unlike creating schedules in FPP or xSchedule, the F16v4 has limited memory for storage.

If you want to use large and somewhat complicated schedules, I would go with FPP as your show player and either set the F16 as a remote or as a controller.  The PI is becoming much more available and returning to more normal pricing and FPP has far more abilities than the F48 has as far as a player goes.

contact support@pixelcontroller.com, they might be able to increase it in the next software version.

Using the Falcon as a player does technically work, but there are several limitations, and it can be time consuming to setup.  I am with @tbone321, you would be happier setting up a FPP or using xscheduler to run the display.

It seems like most shows that have been running several years end up going to a repeatable loop.  Cars tend to show up when they show up, and they don't usually want to wait around for the next show.  A repeatable loop keeps the traffic flowing.

I appreciate all the guidance! I was trying to avoid setting up FPP the first year just to avoid any complexities, but I'll give it a try.

@JonD Good point. Once I get more sequences made up, I'll likely switch to a repeatable loop.

I would bet that if you rethink how you setup your playlist, you can figure out a less intensive schedule. Especially for your smaller show, just link a few sequences into your playlist and schedule that from 5 - 9 or whatever time you want to run it. It's pretty easy to make the filler sequences be "exact" so that the "show" can still run on the half hour. For example:
song 1 - 2:30
filler1 is 27:30
song 2 - 3:45
filler2 is 26:15
etc

I am not sure what you mean by filler, but people don't typically plan arrival times to come see light displays and if your show is playing a filler when they arrive, they will likely leave to go see a display that they can actually watch....Unless you have a good reason to make people leave, I would reconsider this option.

I am not sure what this filler is, but if it is a sequence, then just include it in your playlist and you would only need one playlist for the night.

Using the Falcon as a show player is probably more complex than setting up FPP!
If to err is human, I am more human than most people.
