I always seem to have a problem with the colors of my pixels compared to what it looks like in xLights. I understand it won't look like it does on my computer monitor, but I can't seem to get good purple, orange, and other colors to display.

Is there a color setting in xLights or something that might help with this?

Every pixel manufacturer shows colors differently so the only way to really do this is to experiment with the actual pixels and make color setting changes to see what you get.  Also keep in mind that reducing the maximum intensity of the pixels also reduces the number of colors that they can produce.

Make sure you set a gamma of around 2.2 - 2.4 for the pixel string.   That will help a ton.

@jchuchla fooled around some one year to find orange and some other colors. I believe the key was to reduce the intensity of the leds  so instead of  rgb(255,165,0) for orange, he set it way down like in the 20/30s? I couldn't find the post but maybe that theory pertains to purple as well. Maybe not as bright but a nicer purple color by dropping the sliders down some.

On my floods I use the following:
Purple: 38,0,255
Orange: 150,70,0

That's with no gamma adjustment or brightness reduction.

Thank you all for your replies. I will take this information and see what I can do. I appreciate it.
