First year really doing this so I guess I dove in a bit.

New 16V4 running in player mode. Ethernet wired to mesh router.

Sequences created in xlights. Sent to Controller (32GB card) via FPP Connect. After about 5 or 6, it will go through the process but it doesn't show up on the controller when I go to the controllers page to manage files/ playlists.

Running 2022.24 Xlights 21 Build FPP.

16V4 is using 4 ports with an ethernet to run to a differential for other side of house.

Any input is helpful, sorry a bit new still and learning.

Does anyone run anything greater than 32? I was thinking of running a different show on alternating days.
I have a few other cards so I might try that tonight once it is off.

As far as I know the F16v4 is not an FPP device.  It is a player and you can upload files using the file upload function of the player menu.

fpp connect is the best way to upload files to the f16v4

Are you trying to batch upload or do it one at a time?

my network setup seems pretty similar to yours and I've had issues uploading multiple files at one time. Some things to try:

  • If you are uploading the sequence file and audio (especially if that audio has to convert), upload only one song/sequence at a time.  Once complete, move on to the next one.  You can also refresh the controller's webpage to verify that the file uploaded.
  • After the audio file is on the controller (first upload), uncheck the upload audio box this will significantly reduce the upload time.
  • Don't access your F16v4 controller while you are uploading files... also don't do anything bandwidth-consuming or processor consuming on your PC.

All of these things have helped me to improve the success rate of uploading files to the F16v4 controller.

hope this was helpful.

I have also had trouble with uploading multiple sequences at one time.  After a batch render I needed to upload to my 12 remotes with 24 sequences.  I did not want to do one sequence at a time.  After playing around and trying different combos I now upload a max of 5 sequences at a time and that seems to work fine.

I've uploaded one at a time to avoid issues.

It may have been a bad 32GB card. So I replaced it, was able to load more. But now I am getting random errors.

503 Player Instruction Failed

Unexpected Error; Unable to read FSEQ. Which doesnt make sense given it just ran 5 days without issue.

What I don't understand is that it happens on different sequences. If this becomes a frustrating hobby, I'm going to need to decide between golf and this, I can't be doing two things that annoy me.

When it worked, I was happy. But the random issue doesn't make since to my newbie mind

It still sounds like an SD card issue. There are a ton of counterfeit SD cards out there, is it possible that you bought one of those?

Doesn't seem likely but who knows. A couple cards are from Best Buy and were same type used for drone. Still having the issue today. Eliminating the sequence from playlist k thought helped. But now I am down 4 sequences of the playlist.

Playlist has already frozen 3 times tonight in 90 minutes.

Those should be safe then

Can you post your fpplog and tell us what day/time it froze?
