Bad data coming from 4 ports on F16V3

You can set the serial output here. Last year i set to with one expansion even though i did not have a expansion card to get more port available.  This year I have extra ports so I left it as one expansion.

I vaguely remember that now.  When I set the F16v3 to "One Expansion + Serial Port Remotes" and upload the config to the controller, it changes the "Port Mode" on the F16v3 controller to "Main Board /w Two Expansions"

If you are not letting xLights autoconfig everything, you many need to manually change the port mode to "Main Board / w Two Expansions".  Xlights autoconfig sets them at port 33-36, but it might let you use them at 1-4 if you wanted to.

For what is is worth...  when xLights is configured for "No Expansion + Serial Port Remotes" ... xLights autoconfig appears set the F16v3 Port Mode to "Main Board w/One Expansion, and change the serial ports to use 17-20. 

when xLights is configured for "One Expansion + Serial Port Remotes" ... xLights autoconfig appears set the F16v3 Port Mode to "Main Board w/Two Expansions, and change the serial ports to use 33-36, but since I don't have an expansion card installed I get red errors on the controller because it is not detecting the expansion card.

Best guess, if you are configuring your controllers manually, that you need to set the port mode to "Main Board /w Two Expansions", and the the serial outputs to pixel data ports 33-36.

I will look into it more next year.  There is some reason I am doing like I am but do not remember.
It is just one thing I have to manually change. If I need to expand in the future I will get a differential expansion board (if still available)  and not use the serial port.
