Good evening, I'm a newbie to FPP and I'm hoping to get it working to run my display this year.  I'm 100% Renard so, in light of the issues getting Raspberry Pi's, I figured an Orange Pi 3 LTS should work for my needs.

I'm able to get FPP up and running using the documentation(the work put in to the documentation is very impressive btw), but I can't seem to get wireless running after installing FPP.

My knowledge of Linux is serious lacking but here's where I stand at this point.
After I install Arbian, I'm able to connect using ssh, install network manager, and I can connect to my wifi.
After installing FPP, if I log into the console, I can install network manager but at this point I can no longer see any SSID's.

So, I have read that there are wifi issues with the OrangePi 3 LTS but since I can connect in Arbian, I'm guessing those issues have been resolved.

I'm also assuming I'm doing something wrong...especially by trying to use network manager to connect to wifi, but as I said, I'm a linux rookie so at this point its the only way I know.

Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Chris

Also, I apologize for such a long post as a first post.  Normally I hate doing that.

Well, after a lot of attempted installs I decided to go with plan b.  I set up the OrangePi to be my Octoprint server and that will free up a Raspberry Pi 3 b+.

I did notice 2 things about the Orange Pi 3 LTS though....
It runs really hot.  I'm probably going to have to put a fan on it.
It seems really temperamental as far as Wifi goes.  It tended to freeze multiple times while trying to install Armbian but setting up the OrangePi distribution of debian seems to be working well.  I'm guessing that's a driver issue.

This is what I planned on doing as well but haven't been able to play around w/ it that much.  I just finally got the Orange Pi to run OctoPrint, but I'm stuck on the filament runout sensor.  I can't find a plugin that will check that.  I don't want to run my printer w/o that sensor.

I'm going to toy around w/ the Orange Pi 3 LTS to see if I can at least get it to run FPP as a master.  If I can at least get that to be reliable then that would free up a RPi for other things.
