If it is a Player, that means that it is the "conductor" of the show and nobody should be telling him what to do. But you configured your Pi-Hat to also listen to the Show player. This is NOT a normal condition and that is the reason for the error message.
You probably want the Pi-Hat to be a Remote (AKA Listen for instructions from the show player). And then when a button is pressed, play the sequence that you want it to play and when it is done, revert to listening to the show player.

Possibly.

Falcon Player (FPP) / Abnormal conditions, received ...
Last post by Paulanator - May 18, 2025, 04:02:35 PM
I am using a Falcon Pi Hat and have set it up for angel wings with 5 buttons. I have that all working great.

My goal is to have the wings part of the show from the master controller and when someone pushes a button the wings stop the main sequence and run local static sequence for about 1 minute. That is working great. Then it goes back to the main show after the minute.

I am running the Pi Hat as a player, and it receives data from the show, then when a button is pushed the wings run the sequence for the button pushed.

The only little issue is that when the button is pushed the pi gets the error: Abnormal conditions, received bridging data while sequence is running.

If it seems to be working, is this ok to ignore?

I have seen a video where someone put a relay in on his setup, but mine seems to be working, but I was just concerned about any other issues I might be causing.

Thanks
Paul

Falcon PiCap / Re: PiCap V2 - newbie question...

John did a vid but he too just says it will optionally power the pi.

Here is a manual done by someone that covers the jumpers..
https://github.com/nick-diel/Falcon-PiCap-Manual

As for the battery - that is normally to keep a real time clock current so you pi knows the date and time when it is not powered.

Falcon PiCap / PiCap V2 - newbie questions
Last post by HangGlider - May 18, 2025, 05:25:51 AM
I just received a shiny new PiCap V2! I have it mounted to a Raspberry Pi 4, and I intend to power both via a 12V supply to the PiCap. There's a singular jumper on the PiCap, which I assume controls the source of power to the boards - but given the fact that I'm brand new to this business (I can't even spell LED), and since I can't seem to locate any documentation on the PiCap, it seems prudent to seek expertise here.

1) Can someone tell me what position the jumper needs to be in so that the PiCap will share the 12V supply to the Pi?

2) Also, what is the purpose of the battery on the PiCap?

Thanks!

F16v3 Pixel Controller / possible interference: Solved
Last post by Plasmadrive - May 17, 2025, 10:29:16 AM
I want to run 3 conductor flat wire using the stripped outside for sig gnd and the other two for driving two different pixels strings.. I wonder about possible interference between the two.  Any thoughts?  the distance is about 4'

Nothing wrong with your wiring, but think about the fact that you have a lot of single points of failure that would shut down your show.  As you grow over future years think about backup potential that could be incorporated in your growth.  I chose to go to multiple smaller controllers so a failure impacts small portions of my show.  I have also, over the years, added spare controller(s).  At least one of the spares is used in my shop for testing until / unless it is needed to be used in recovering from a failure.

You rock!

That did it. Whatever Lat/Long that was in there was drastically off. Thank you!

Have you correctly set your Latitude and Longitude? Sunrise and Sunset are not based on Time zone. Check the location on your map, some ISPs will report a location significantly different than your actual location.

Hello All,

I've had this problem for a while, but for some reason, when trying to schedule a playlist to begin at sunset, and while selecting the preview option to review start times, the times are all several hours after sunset.

I have had to modify my start time manually by selecting sunset -135 minutes to get it close. I have verified that my timezone is set correctly, and havent seen any other issues with time zones. Anyone else ever had or seen this issue?

Thanks!

Alex
