I am guessing you want DMX output from your raspberry pi.
For $15 more, you can get so much more if you get this

Pixel strings, real time clock and DMX output. I see it is out of stock at the moment, but ask around and someone may have a spare they would be willing to sell.

In theory that DMX adaptor should work as it says that it is using the FTDI chipset which should make it OpenDMX compatible.

If the above is not clear to you - PiCaps have DMX capability built in.

Thanks guys, that's a big help. Right now I'm only looking to control two scanners from the pi so I'll give the cable a shot. It's from Amazon so I can always return it.

The pi cap looks great though so I'll probably look into that as well

Funny. but I just can't get my PiCap to output DMX.  It did ok with PixelNet but not DMX.  Fortunately for me, my  F48 has no problem doing it so i'm still good to go.

@tbone321   Kind of ironic, but I have PiCap controlling an old Lynx wireless transmitter that is sending out data to two Lynx SSR4s that I use with some static props.  What a difference what we do today versus our old Lynx days.

That is what the F48 is doing, sending DMX through a Lynx wireless transmitter to a few LE's with wireless modules.  i in many ways am still in the old days.  While I am building up on pixel props and have replaced all of the lights on the house with pixels (permanently mounted), I still have many old style props that I have no intention of getting rid of.  I came from a time where Christmas decorations looked like Christmas, both during the day as well as night and I intend on keeping that way.  Right now, my sequences are for the most part non-existent with no sound and still stops quite a few cars, and I'm not even on a main road.  I really hope to spend more time better learning XLights and creating some actual sequences for this year but I am big on both Halloween and Christmas and that really limits the amount of time I can spend on either one.
