Good Evening, I was hoping someone could help me on this.  I would like to have all my Channels on before my show starts and for a while after it end.  I can not find out how to do that, when I try the GPIO-On script in the repository and nothing happens, I try the command in a play list nothing happens.  I am using a Pi, with an 8 channel relay going to 8 outlets, so I am not sure if it does not work because the gpios are under the channel output/other or not but nothing is working for me so any help is great.

Do the GPIO work during a sequence?

Did you change/set the GPIO in the script?

MikeKrebs

I am not a script or RPi expert but I think you might want the on script to be like below. Go to the scripts tab in File Manager and click on the GPIO-On.sh file and then Edit. Similarly, the off script would have the same modification.

#!/bin/sh
###########################################################
# GPIO-On.sh - Turn on ALL of the Pi's GPIO Outputs       #
###########################################################

# Set the GPIO number (NOT the pin number)

for GPIO in 26 19 13 25 12 21 20 16
do
  #echo "test"
  #echo $GPIO
  # Make sure the pin is setup for output.
  /opt/fpp/src/fpp -G ${GPIO},Output

  # Turn on the pin
  /opt/fpp/src/fpp -g ${GPIO},Output,1
done

We need a bit more information.  What type of relay board are you using?  Is it wired correctly.  There are many types of these relay boards and they all wire in differently.

CaptainMurdoch

It sounds like you are turning them on manually, but since you have them setup as Channel Outputs, then fppd is turning them off because you don't have any sequence or effect running.  If you want to turn them on initially, but still control them with a sequence or effect, then you should make an effect sequence that turns them on, and start that up as a background sequence.  When the normal sequence starts playing, it will turn the GPIO On/Off, and when it stops, the background "all-on" effect sequence will keep them on.  To turn them off at the end of the night, stop the background effect sequence.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  Mike, Everything works during the show, its just that when the show is not running they are off.  I did change the set in the script, just for one output just to see and it did not work.  I will try yours this evening and see how it goes.  I used to have something before I updated to 7, but i forgot to back it up and i'm kicking my self now for that.

tbone, everything is wired correctly as it works during the show.

Capt, I will also give that a shot and see, i was thinking of trying something like that in Vixen.
