What is Pi-nightly_2026-04 and/or Pi64-nightly.....?

Development builds. Probably don't want those unless you are working on the team.

If you were on Facebook, you would know, I posted a long post there a few days ago about some of the FPP10 status items.  Anyway....

We now have fully automated image builds done every night.  This has been a goal of mine to get working for a very long time.   Previously, every image that was released was a very laborious task involving actual SD cards in Beagles and Pis, creating the images from the SD cards, etc...  It's now completely automated as GitHub Actions and built/published nightly.

Since it's completely automated, adding a new 64bit image for the Pi's was simple and not really any more work for me.   Thus, there are now "Pi64" images.   You CANNOT go from a 32bit build to 64bit via fppos, but if you are completely re-imaging a Pi that can do 64bit, I would suggest the new 64bit builds.

Thanks for the info Dan,

I'm not on Facebook.

That is really cool that you can do that AND that it saves you a ton of work!

Due to some logistics in my family room I don't have my panels hanging and operational at the moment so I have not loaded anything since last fall, but I expect that to be resolved in a month or two.  And it should be 4 panels instead of the previous 2, so more stuff to test...

And no, I'm like SCUBA - NOT on FaceCrap.
Using LOR (mostly SuperStar) for all sequencing - using FPP only to drive P5 and P10 panels.

Aren't all Pi's > version 3 with more than 2 Gbytes good for 64 bit? I was thinking that only version 1 & 2 are 32 bit, and 0 is ok for 64 bit.

I might be wrong on this.

The Pi Zero and Pi Zero W which are both still sold are 32bit only.   The Pi Zero W2 is 64bit capable.   I'd love to move fully to 64bit for the Pi's, but people are still buying the Pi Zero W so the 32bit stuff is still needed.   Now that it's all automated, it's not as big of a deal anymore.

thanks Dan........good to know about the zero W & W2.

If I understand your post.  Pi64 is NOT a beta version and we can re-image a SD card to the 64 bit OS. In the future, updates to fppos still require us to go to the "about" page and initiate the upgrade.  Correct?
