Using K8-B-Scroller to run 2X3 Outdoor P5 Panels (from YPS) in FPP v8.5.1. Can't get the test sequence to display properly regardless of interleave settings. Anyone know of a resource such as a YouTube video, forum, and/or anything that isn't using ColorLight/pi configuration that I could reference? I'm wondering if maybe I missed some kind of compatibility issue or something, because I can't seem to find much information on this controller used with panels. Any help or info is greatly appreciated!

I don't have any of his P5 panels so I'm not really sure.   Wired Watt's panels are a 64 interleave.

If I had one, Im sure it could be made to work properly, but I'd need to get one.

Tell Mynor to bring a few to the Christmas Expo next month....oh wait. :'(

At this point I'm not sure whether to buy a pi and Color Light card to go that route (which means I only use the K8 for the pixel outputs), or I eat the cost of these panels and purchase the ones from Wired Watts in the hopes that they'll be more likely to work with the K8 controller.

Or buy a panel and have it shipped to Dan.  You seem to give up in a hurry.

You didn't say what parameters you used. So, I will type out what V9 says for YPS P5 outdoor.

Single Panel Size (WxH):  64x32 1/8 Scan
Panel Gamma: 2.2
Brightness: 100%
Panel Interleave: Off
Color Depth: 8 Bit
Panel Row Address Type: Standard
LED Panel Type: Standard
Default Panel Color Order (C-Def): RGB

These are known to work for some users according to FPP. YMMV.

Thanks @MikeKrebs! I've tried those with no luck. Apologies for not posting the settings sooner. Here's the closest I've gotten so far (red arrow is Panel 1, Output 1):

That looks to be larger than 2 Wide x 3 high.
Can you post a picture of the back?

rvtlights

I have them situated longways. Sorry the picture's not the greatest.

Can you post a screenshot of your Panel Config screen? We need to see the entire screen (pictures of a screen suck!)

I tried downloading and installing the v9.0 FPP with the same results. Here's the config screenshots:

You didn't set the arrows in the correct order. Thes panels are a bit confusing because they have double arrows. Try turning the arrows to the left

I'll likely need to get one or two of these panels in to actually diagnose the layout.   I did just add a 32 zig zag option (and 40 zig zag for P4's) to master branch as I noticed they were missing.   This semi looks like the 32zig zag, but setting to 80 really makes the picture useless as that's not any multiple of the panel sizes and thus would screw up any attempt to diagnose things from the picture.

Again, getting a panel to me for a few days would definitely get them working.    You have all the "parts" of the pattern displayed so it's just a matter of mapping the placements.   This isn't like the new PWM panels that wouldn't be displaying anything.
