I am working through setting up my new controller for this year and was able to connect several times but now it just sits idle at the falcon Christmas screen on the board. Not sure what is going on. Possibly need an update? Odd that it would work and then just stop booting up. Any ideas?

I would update the firmware to latest version.  You may need to update it using a SD card.  Follow the directions fully.  There are some steps that people skip, which gets them in trouble.

I have had that happen on my F16v3. Apparently it was caused by a corruption of the string or network settings that the boot process could not get past. I had to do a Factory Reset and all was good. (actually, it wasn't quite ALL good since it lost all my settings). But I had done a Save Settings a week prior and that got me back in business. I was already updated to the latest firmware so didn't try that.

I did a reset and updated the firmware, back on track now. Was a little worried since I'm just now messing with this new controller. Thank you guys for the ideas.

Glad it is working for you.  I see this issue come up on the forum from time to time.  Sometimes a reset will resolve, other times upgrading or reloading the current firmware will resolve.  It is just as easy do to both while you have everything in front of you.  If you follow the firmware upgrade directions step by step, and don't skip over any steps it usually fixes it.  Seems like a lot of people will try to skip over the reset part, which can make things worse.  Even then it is usually fixable, it just takes a little more work to resolve.
