So, with the upcoming SuperBowl I've been working on a Scoreboard plugin for those of you with Matrixes and want to show off all your hard work.

Pat and I have been brainstorming on some features and I would like to put it out to you on what you would like to see as well.

Granted the base feature is to show both scores at the same time (resources of pixels permitting) with a possible 'scroll' of scores if the realestate is not sufficient to show both simultaneously.

The proper abbreviations for teams/cities is what we are looking at to show scores.

i.e GreenBay = GB.  Seattle = SEA.. unless the hard core sports guys out there have more appropriate Abb'v standards.

Thanks
Ben

The Capt'n has given some good details about how to break the matrix's up using Virtual matrixes. That change makes it even more versatile!

Coming soon to the forum near you the SHA and install for the scoreboard.

This is something that I think would work very well in the off season for those games or what not out and about or to just impress your buddies with your setup and your home bar look and feel!

It's fun

Hello
I'm looking for a way to make a scoreboard using falcon and I came across this post.
Where can I find this plug-in?

Do you mean a scoreboard for use in a game being played locally like at a school or are you just wanting to display the score of some game being played remotely like a NFL game?

I mean locally display for childrens soccer team. I want to help the team somehow, so I help technologically  ;D. I came up with the idea of using P10 LED matrix panels, a receiving card and RPi to display results and play short gifs, e.g. after scoring a goal.

There isn't anything out of the box that will do this currently.  I did work on a scoreboard plugin to do what you are wanting, but it got put on the back burner and is only halfway complete due to limited time and my kids not being in sports currently.  Attached are screenshots of a couple pages to setup and use along with a virtual matrix displaying a basketball scoreboard.  If someone wants to help pick up this code and continue it, I am more than happy to put it up on github to aid collaboration.

The thought was to have different modes that the scoreboard could run in for basketball, football, baseball, volleyball and other sports and to have buttons for playing audio files, automatic buzzer at 00:00, etc..  The plugin is only halfway done, and includes a frontend web portion and backend C++ portion that is loaded in FPP to handle things like the clock timer.
