I have 2 PCs I use for xlights.

The first PC is used to create the sequences and the second is used for the actual light show.

After I create a sequence on the first PC, I copy the program xlights, mp3, fseq and xbkp files to the second PC

Everything seems to work but the music is a beat off from the lights on the house preview screen.

What do I need to do to get the music and house preview in sync?

Poporacer

Are you using Bluetooth speakers or headphones on any of these computers?

right now I am just using the PCs to develop.    I copied the sequence from the main PC  (which is in sync) to a remote PC.   When I play the remote PC from my main PC, the music from the remote PC is played on the main PC and is out of sequence.  If that makes any sense.

Poporacer

Yes, but do either of the PCs use Bluetooth connected Speakers or headphones?

Right now they do not use Bluetooth  or speakers.   There are no lights connected yet.   When I finally do hook up the lights the music will be broadcasted via a FM transmitter with possibly a wired speaker for outside music listening.

Please clarify your statement, " When I play the remote PC from my main PC".  Are you using remote control software to do so?  Some of the RC programs we use do lag, sometimes quite a bit.
Sequencers: Vixen3 and xLights
Players: FPP and xSchedule Controllers:  Renards - SS24/SS16; E1.31 - San Devices E682 - Falcon F16, F4, F48 - J1Sys - DIYLEDExpress E1.31 Bridges.  Much more!

I'm not too sure how to answer your question.   I'm using remote desktop connection to access the PC that is out of sync.   See attachment.   I hope this helps to determine my issueYou cannot view this attachment.

If you are using Remote Desktop connection to view what is playing one another PC then you cannot expect things to be in sync. That is the nature of remote communication.

If the music is in sync on the desktop PC and I don't change anything, do you think the music will be in sync when I start using  lights on the remote PC?

Or should I just develop all my sequences on the remote PC?

I am pretty sure. Just go to the Remote PC and view it there....Remote communication is not very good.

Using Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) could definitely cause a sound delay to the other machine.  As Poporacer suggested, if you login directly to the second computer instead of remote controlling it, it would most likely play like it was supposed to.

If you are coping from machine to machine... in the old days there were some directory structure issues if the data was not in the same exact location.  If the sequences are stored on c:\data\xlights on one machine, make sure it is stored on c:\data\xlights on the other machine.  Otherwise, you could end up missing images, and other items in some situations.

Geod

Thanks to all for the responses.   I have learned a lot!
