I'd try things like:
rebooting
uninstalling plugins

and see what happens

JonD

Just went from 8.3 to 8.3.1.  I had rebooted before posting.  8.3.1 was unusable... most likely because CPU was at constant 70-90%.  Went back to 8.3 and all good.

JonD

Not so good after all.  Reverted back to 8.2 and still having on-going issues.  It is getting close to go-live and I am going to have to install fresh images once again.  I am throwing in the towel and going back to 7.5 instead.  Sorry guys!

On-going 8.3 Problems (8.x)

Could not upgrade FPP remotes through proxy.
Many FPP commands were not working.
Random playlist issues.

Problems can only get fixed if people provide specific details about what does not work.  Start with a fresh install of 8.3 (not fppos upgrade) and provide specific examples of what does not work, otherwise those problems will likely still exist in fpp 9 next year.

Understood and agree, but I have mentioned most of these issues prior and did not get any feedback.  I don't mind trying to get to the bottom of things, but I am not going to waste time documenting something no one is interested in looking at.  I have learned to throw it out there and see if anyone nibbles on it.  If not, I work around it.

Did you post a GitHub issue? The developers don't actively monitor the forums. They will sometimes respond, but they do look at every single issue that is posted in GitHub.
If to err is human, I am more human than most people.

I have tested with Pi3b+, Pi4, and Pi5, Not seen any of this.
Did you start with a Fresh SD card install with Pi Imager?
After you finished the install and stepped thru the First Configuration, did you grow the storage before the reboot?
Once it was up and running, did you restore an old backup?

Last item would be a possible bad SD card. If there is an issue with the SD card, the system will have a lot of issues.

As to the High CPU.  They were brand new freshly installed 8.3 images via BalenaEtcher a only a few days old, that were working fine 2 seconds before I hit the upgrade to 8.3.1 button.  At prior re-image, I answered finish setup questions, hit the grow storage button, rebooted, restored from last backup, rebooted again, installed plug-ins, "Remote Falcon" and "Big Buttons", then ran FPP connect to restore the sequences and audio files.

I have installed a fresh 7.5 installation same method as above which resolved the issue.  Only had the issue once, and did not try again.  Unless there is a bug that needs to be resolved, I don't need to fix something that is not broken.  If others report same issue we can play then.

The not being able to upgrade FPP remote has been an issue for a while.  FPP remote is on display vlan with NO internet access.  Remote pulls NTP time from main FPP player, and works fine otherwise.  In past, I would set remote FPP device "FPP Upgrade Source" to the Main FPP player, then goto main FPP Player's multi-sync page.  I would checkmark the remote, select "Upgrade FPP" action and hit run.  Running FPP 7.5 this works fine.  When running 8.3 and prior, the log list drop down appears, but it is white with no information and it does not upgrade.  I only use multi-sync to run a virtual matrix on a Pi with 7" touch screen.  It sits next to my recliner and displays what is playing outside.  It is nice to have, but certainly not a must have.  It typically works fine even if not at the current version.

You cannot view this attachment.

I don't consider GitHub level 1 tech support and have not posted any of these issues there.  It would be nice to resolve some of the random playlist issues I have, but I am surviving.
